Committees of Main Street Van Wert
Our organization has 4 main volunteer committees based on the "4 Point Approach" set by the National Main Street Program.
These standing committees are:
Design
Promotion
Organization
Business Enhancement
Committee members are the backbone of Main Street Van Wert. As a committee member, you have the opportunity to share your ideas and see them come to life. If you are a creative professional, have experience in accounting, dabble in photography, or perhaps you are a great people person, YOU are a candidate for a Main Street Committee. We need all personality types with different experiences, likes, and hobbies. Just as a vibrant community is made up of lots of different types of things and people, a great committee is made up of people with varying backgrounds and professions. The key to a successful committee is everyone working together toward a common goal: improving Downtown Van Wert.
Committee members must take responsibility for an idea or project and work closely with the Board of Directors and Program Manager to see their ideas adopted and implemented. As a committee member, you are given tools and the option to attend trainings to best work toward downtown revitalization in Van Wert. Among books and training materials, you also have the option to attend statewide training opportunities hosted quarterly by Heritage Ohio on a wide array of topics relating to downtown development.
Committee members take pride in volunteerism and knowing they are transforming the heart of Van Wert into a vibrant and healthy downtown community. They enjoy working together with other volunteers and community leaders and take pride in their accomplishments.
Most importantly, as a committee member you always represent Main Street Van Wert to this community. It is expected that you always represent the organization positively to the public, as your actions will reflect the progress of Main Street Van Wert.
