Harvest Moon Festival
We try to make Downtown Van Wert a family friendly fall event the last weekend of October. Past festivals have included Friday evening and Saturday morning activities like Pumpkin Bowling, Spooky Storytelling, Scavenger Hunts, a 5-K Run and Walk, Carved Pumpkin Judging, and of course Trick-or-Treating to the Downtown businesses.
The businesses in Downtown participate by passing out candy and many plan their own Fall or Halloween themed activities. Many of the restaurants offer Harvest Moon Specials and several stores have Sales during this weekend event.
